SCHOLARSHIPS

BETTY NEWELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS
Betty Newell was CO-FOUNDER OF THIS Institute (then called the Mid-Southeast Suzuki Institute). She was a terrific Suzuki teacher and believed very strongly in giving opportunities for children to take part in Suzuki Institutes. Her dedication to institute teaching and learning was inspiring for all of us. Any student receiving a scholarship will have the opportunity to assist with various small tasks in order to make the institute experience a positive one for everyone.

RUDY HAZUCHA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TEACHERS
Rudy Hazucha was a dedicated teacher trainer who spent many summers with us at this Institute. His passion for teaching lay not only in teaching students, but in training teachers well to carry on the Suzuki philosophy and approach to teaching. Any teacher receiving a scholarship will have the opportunity to assist with various small tasks in order to make the institute experience a positive one for everyone.

DAVID SHERMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ADULT STUDENTS
David Sherman was an adult student at this Institute for many years. David loved the Virginia Suzuki Institute, the friends he made here, and the advancements he achieved in his classes. His memory will be carried on to help other adults know that you are never too old to learn, and that summer camp is a great experience at any age.
